How can I provide heat to my poultry shed?
By using LPG. It is cleaner and has lower carbon emissions
than oil.
What can you use LPG for?
LPG can be used for a wide variety of applications such
as weed burning, grain drying, poultry farming, and pheasant
rearing.
What size tank do I require?
This depends on the size of your LPG requirement; this
is calculated by taking into consideration various factors
such as the heater, burner K.W output or b.t.u size and
how long you intend to run this for.
How far can the pipe work run?
This generally depends on your LPG requirement, the
gas supply can extend to 100 metres plus, but to keep
costs down the shortest route is often the best option.
Can I use LPG for other uses as well as my grain/crop
dryer?
Yes, LPG can run your house central heating, your aga,
workshop heating, and greenhouse heating.
Can the tank/s be sited close to the grain store?
This depends on the size of tank you require, but there
are specific separation distances for different capacity
tanks. Calor would be happy to survey the proposed site
with no obligation to you
I only dry crops for a couple of months. What happens
to the LPG which is left in the tank?
It is good practise to turn off the LPG supply at the
tank following the drying season. Any LPG left will happily
remain for next season
What can be dried with LPG?
Almost anything peas, beans, wheat, barley, rape, onion,
daffodil bulbs, even your home laundry via an lpg tumble
dryer.
